Howard Industries, Inc. has announced it is adding a 2-1/2 % surcharge to its invoices for all liquid-filled distribution and power transformer products shipped on or after February 16, 2004, applicable to its existing blanket contracts. This surcharge is being implemented to partially offset base cost increases and surcharges imposed by steel suppliers (affecting carbon steel, stainless steel, and silicon core steel) and other rapidly escalating costs for commodities such as for copper, aluminum, oil, and natural gas. The surcharge will be discontinued when business conditions return to a more normal level.
