RUS Grants Acceptance
of Additional Voltage Regulator Ratings

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Technical Standards Committee “A” has expanded its acceptance of Howard voltage regulators. Current acceptance now covers most ratings commonly used by rural electric cooperatives in the United States, as listed below:

• Single-phase, 32-step, line/substation, 50, 75, 100, 150, 219, 328, 438, 546, and 656 Ampere, 7.62 kV, Type SVR-1
• Single-phase, 32 step, line/substation, 50, 100, 150, 200, 231, 300, 400, 463, and 578 Ampere, 14.4 kV, Type SVR-1

 
These ratings now appear on page sc(1) of the Department's Conditional List of Materials, indicating that they are acceptable for use on the systems of RUS Electrification borrowers.
